Liopleurodon skull

Skull of Liopleurodon ferox in New Walk Museum, Leicester

This skull is from the Oxford Clay Formation, and came from a brick pit in the Peterborough area. The preservation is typical of that of large pliosaur skull, and is flattened by overburden pressure. This view is from below, and shows mainly the palate. The teeth are about 10cm long.
